When i run it it stays as a black screen with the sounds yet before it ran i use a packard bell PC.

Which version? The Windows one? Running it though patched EXE?

Not that sure on my pcs techs i am no good at that stuff the version of Xcom However i got from here.

Not even enough to know what operating system you have on your machine? <_< Pardon, but I just don't find that believable.
Download Everest Home from www.lavalys.com . It will tell you the what hardware is in your machine.

im having the same issue with the black screen running the x-com windows version. I'm running on vista. Can you help

Im having the same black screen issue with X-com for windows. Im running Vista and i have tired to run the game in Compatibility mode. I get sound but no video. Can anyone help?

The fix to this problem always be and will always be to download the DOS version from the same review page of this site and use DOSBox to run it.

Not so sure DOSBox can run under Vista just yet though...

I just installed Dosbox and i got it running on vista. Im am able to play x-com terror of the deep. But i cant find x-com ufo defense. Can you send me the direct link?

I just installed that one now. When i try to run it in Dosbox it says it needs to run with win32 and then it quits out.
