That way the companies take advantage on the brats who can't wait to be up to the minute. Actually it's advantageous for the rest of us because if they have already paid off their investment during a short period, they will sell it cheaper afterwards, having only to cover the production costs.
Anyway politicians are too trigger-happy about a number of things, it's all too obvious that they don't live under the laws they make for the rest of us. In my opinion if you start to violate principles like, there can't be a crime without a victim, any political nightmare is possible in the long run.
