Guest Or simply copy EDIT from MSDos.
Works in dosbox
Also does QBasic.
And plenty others (think freeware doseditors, zillions of those).

The Fifth Horseman You can always install Norton Commander or a clone of it, since they contain text editors.

Yes, indeed, or they could make a simple text editing program to it. That would be nice.

Morrin I really really would like to see "edit" command featured in dosbox

Eagle of Fire Yeah, I do have the project to try playing Conquest of the New World on the new version... Once I dig up my copy from my moving boxes. <_<

I happen to have little use of DOSBox lately. The only game I play for long stretches of time since a few months is Dwarf Fortress.

The Fifth Horseman I think you should update to 0.7x. It's several times faster than 0.63, and the stability and speed of Dynamic Core went through the roof. (tested that myself)

Eagle of Fire I'm not the one needing help, I been mod of troubleshooting for a while here y'know. <_<

I never used MD as a command, and I frankly don't see why I would need to use it either. I always create the directories in Windows, unzip the game then use DOSBox to run the game.

On another note, the last DOSBox version I've installed on my computer is 0.63...

Can md even work in DOSBox? [/b]
Even help/all>help.txt works.
Gives you a help.txt with: (after a bit of a cleanup)

CHDIR>Displays/changes the current directory.
CD>Displays/changes the current directory.
CLS>Clear screen.
COPY>Copy files.
DIR>Directory View.
DEL>Removes one or more files.
DELETE>Removes one or more files.
ERASE>Removes one or more files.
ECHO>Display messages and enable/disable command echoing.
EXIT>Exit from the shell.HELP>Show help.
MKDIR>Make Directory.
MD>Make Directory.
RMDIR>Remove Directory.
RD>Remove Directory.
SET>Change environment variables.
IF>Performs conditional processing in batch programs.
GOTO>Jump to a labeled line in a batch script.
SHIFT>Leftshift commandline parameters in a batch script.
TYPE>Display the contents of a text-file.
REM>Add comments in a batch file.
RENAME>Renames one or more files.
Press any key to continue.
REN>Renames one or more files.
PAUSE>Waits for 1 keystroke to continue.
CALL>Start a batch file from within another batch file.
SUBST>Assign an internal directory to a drive.
LOADHIGH>Loads a program into upper memory (requires xms=true, umb=true).
LH>Loads a program into upper memory (requires xms=true, umb=true).
CHOICE>Waits for a keypress and sets ERRORLEVEL.
ATTRIB>Does nothing. Provided for compatibility.
PATH>Provided for compatibility.
VER>View and set the reported DOS version.

Good job from the dosbox team I would say.

Data you are a long time dosbox user.
md has been supported at least since 0.50 (as since then the source is public available)

You might want to update one of these days.
