Eagle of Fire | Well, that does make sense in a way. Could be because of memory leakage... |

Thanks to everyone that helped with the problem. I don't think it is fixed, but it seems that when ever I save it I get longer to play it. Doesn't make any sense to me, but I don't care since it works well enough to play. Once again, thanks to those that helped. |

well, it always worked on mine... except it always wanted Com port 1 and 2... and it won't work in dosbox, as far as I know. |

Guest | I tried that on my 3.1 machine, but it won't recognize my mouse. The 98 machine problem was actually the cd that I had put settlers on. I can't get it to recognize any cd's, so I guess I can't use that one. So, I think that my best bet will be to get dos mouse drivers for my old machine, and I have gotten a couple of other ideas for that too. Thanks for everyone's help thus far. |

Eagle of Fire | In fact I think it would help quite a lot. |

Did you try to use VMDSound? On the Win98 machina, try to boot the MS DOS invite and try to remove read only with the attrib command. Should work like this: attrib -a *.* There should be another flag for the read only, I am guessing it's -r but I don't remember. Type attrib/? to get the possible commands. |

Guest | I am an administrator. I have Windows XP on this computer. I also tried it on my parents old computers (win98 and win 3.1 w/dos) and couldn't get it to work on them either. On my XP machine I can at least get it to run for a few minutes. On the older machines I haven't been able to get it to run at all. If I get ambitious yet tonight, I will put the errors here for the older machines (if there are any) otherwise I will try to do so tomorrow sometime. |

Strange behaviour. Are you sure you have Administrator access? Do you have Win98? |

Guest | When I go to properties, read only is checked. I uncheck it, and apply it, and then hit close the properties window. When I open the properties window again, it is checked again. |
