You can drag'n'drop a folder on the DOSBox icon and see the correct command...

Yes. Just as I expected and exactly the reason why it's not working.
Your desktop is not the root of your C drive (and yes, I know it can get confusing with how Windows presents it). Right-click OLDGAMES and choose Properties. See what's written next to Location - that is what you have to write in the MOUNT command instead of c:\OLDGAMES .

Dave This is a newbie-proof tutorial, you won't learn much but the drag'n-drop method could be a temporary solution:

But I really suggest you to follow the tutorials that Horseman linked you.

The Fifth Horseman If you're familiar with what Windows calls "folders", that's the same thing as we call directories.
They are similar to files, but unlike files - which contain data - directories contain other directories and files.

WWIIGUY Is a directory the same as a file? What is a directory?
24-01-2011 06:53 AM
The Fifth Horseman Where did you create the directory? Screenshot, please.

But is there any way to dumb it down a bit?
The only thing that can be done is to read it from the start. If you have difficulties understanding any terms or steps, just ask - I'll be happy to answer.

WWIIGUY OK, I read over the DOS for Beginners thread and it says to put each game in a sub-category. I don't know what that means. I'm also typing "mount C C:\OLDGAMES" which is verbatum the name of the file I made, anyway, when I type it in, it gives me "Directory C:\OLDGAMES does not exist" I don't know where to go from here.

Lulu_Jane 'Sup WIIGUY, it helps us if you're more specific about your problem - where exactly are you getting stuck?
