I had a demo for the Amiga of a game based on Formula 1, but it was completely management only, you did no racing at all yourself.

The game was run from a managers office, allowing you to go into various other screens to set up your cars for the qualifying and the race, buy new drivers, sack current drivers, as well as getting sponsorship deals, and I think there may have been a section about the technical team also, where you can hire and fire pit crew etc.

There is/was a PC game very similar to this released in the late 90's I believe, but this game still has Ayrton Senna in it, so its at least 10 years old, if not older.

Anyone know the name, and if its available as abandonware? I've no idea if the full version of the game was ever released, I only ever played the demo which lasted for 1 season, but I'd be quite content with just the demo to mess around with, if its available.

There are several Formula 1 management games for PC. The most popular one has probably been MicroProse's Grand Prix Manager (on HOTU (http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?gameid=2389) and it's sequel (also on HOTU (http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?gameid=2389)). F1 Manager Professional (HOTU (http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?name=F1+Manager+Professional)) looks promising as well.

EDIT: Team F1 was popular at the time, too. Link (http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?name=Pole+Position).
