Might be one of these.

Do you remember when you played it? We don't need the exact year, just some kind of cut-off date to help narrow the search.
Did the game run in DOS or in Windows?
Were the graphics isometric or top-down?

nope not any of them. when in battle the gameplay is something like x-com

That doesn't help much, considering you haven't said in which ways it's "like x-com". If you could do that and try to answer the earlier questions, it would help us a lot in narrowing down the possibilities.

this doesn't have to do anything with robots but jagged alliance has "x-com like" combat =S

Hey calm down man, alot of people become mistaken when they try to recall events and things from way in the past. I don't see any reason why you would be an exception... that being said even if you don't know when it was released, do you know what year or roughly what year it was you played it? Stuff like that helps.

Metal Marines perhaps? (http://www.mobygames.com/game/win3x/metal-marines/screenshots)

Nobody's asking you to remember - or in fact expecting you to know when the game was released.
Thing is, knowing a rough estimate of when you played it allows us to dismiss titles released after that year from our search. The estimate doesn't have to be perfect - if neccesary, erring on the side of caution.

For example, if you played the game when you were in the primary school, then a definite cut-off date would be the year when you graduated from that school. It's that simple.

neither would i know which it ran on.
Some people remember this kind of detail, others don't. I was asking on the off chance you did, or at least could narrow it down if you remembered the operating systems your machine used.

but what i remember is its a turn based game in battle u are able to see grids on floor of how many steps u can move ur robot and the range of ur attacksWell, that is something useful. Were those grids made from squares or from hexagons? (like this: http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/power-dolls/screenshots/gameShotId,134606/)

sorry i really cant remember which year or what it ran on. the grids are squares. i remember the 3 robots u control 1 is fully blue, another should be orange i guess and the last one i cant remember. it might be a japanese game.
not metal marines. the robots are slightly bigger and they look more like mechwarrior robots

Sounds close to Front Mission:

There's also another possibility, but I'm not very sure of that one:

Maybe any of these three:
Ultrabots (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/ultrabots)
Screenshots (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/ultrabots/screenshots)

Space Hulk (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/space-hulk)
Screenshots (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/space-hulk/screenshots)

The third I have in mind that seems also to match your descriptions well, is The Machines made by a game company Junkyard. Though I had this game myself as a part of earlier Gold Games compilation, I wasn't able to find anywhere on the net neither it's description nor any screenshots, partly due to both the words "machines" and "junkyard" being so popular that they pop out zillions of other unrelated search results with it, even with some narrowing efforts.
Mobygames also know nothing of that game.

A simple "thats not it but thanks for the effort" would have been a better response.

It seems the fellow is insolent and not exactly grateful for our efforts to find the game name for him. Suit yourself and search the game on your own. What an arsehole...

Dude, why should we care to find this game for you, if you're being an ass about it? Oh and by the way, instead of throwing insults around, you should be reading a book on English grammar.
