Not sure if this is the spot for it, but.

Been driving me nuts trying to find these, I can't recall the name of it. But it was packaged back in the early 1990s when CDs first started to become mainstream (Back when they tryed the whole MPC standards early off) it was packaged with I believe 4 different model cars as 4 different games where you could drive the car the kit came with. Think it was a Revell kit.

I can't recall most of the cars, but I know one was a 60s era mustang. Believe it was a polygon racer similar to Test Drive 3, I remember it being extremely unforgiving. Starting off with a point-to-point bit. Then upon reaching the end you having to do a circuit race against an opponent, if you could even get that far.

Maybe someone else has a clue about these?

Could it have been either of the Street Rod (http://www.mobygames.com/game-group/street-rod-series) games? It's possible the game wasn't ever sold with a model car, but unofficially paired with a model car by that single store to help drive sales or clear out inventory.

I see you said it's 3D so scratch Street Rod... Maybe Stunt Driver? (http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/1050/Stunt+Driver.html) I had that on CD and I remember only 4 vehicles being available. The Shelby Mustang, a 60's VW Bug, an Iroc Z, and a Porche 911.

There was also Stunts (http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/73/Stunts.html) by Broderbund. Almost the exact same as Stunt Driver.

And then there was Stunt Car Racer (http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/934/Stunt+Car+Racer.html) incase it was that. Good luck.

It sounds like European Racers (http://www.mobygames.com/game/european-racers).
