I Need Help Remembering This Old Adventure Game!

I remember playing an old text based adventure game on DOS. It was called like Haunted House or Haunted Mansion, or something like that.

It was similar to the Infoquest style of game. I remember that it may have been the first game I ever won on my own, or even won at all. I was about 12 years old, and it was ~1989 that I was playing it.

Anyone remember it?

It was all text. No pictures at all, not even ascii art.

I am fuzzy about the goal but I do know that you had to go through this haunted house (first you had to get into it, but before that there was stuff around the town to do), and then you had to kill a monster. I remember that I killed it by throwing a bottle of acid on it. Or something crazy like that.

I played it at the time on an Epson computer with an amber monochrone screen, not that these details have absolutely anything to do with the game, I am just reminiscing :)

I wish I could think of more info, does that help at all?

It sounds a little bit similar to The Lurking Horror. Although that is based in a campus, not a manion
