Abandonware

As a kid I was really fascinated by fast cars and the racing sport. No wonder racing games were among my favorites. But there weren’t many good ones around. Pitstop was one of the better ones out there. Its main feature was (as the title suggests) the pit where you had to stop and refit your car, otherwise you could run out of gas or get a flat tire.

We were already hosting parts I and III of this series, so I thought we should have this, the second part, too.

Look at those good children studying and reading! I can’t stand it anymore. I have to do something about it. Something like casting the spell and creating the magic book. Once those nice responsible brats open the book, they will be sucked in, trapped inside the most horrible place they ever seen. Bwahahahahaha....

After enjoying Abandonia nearly from the start, I guess it's time for me to contribute something too. It is something special, at least to me: Links 386 Pro! Usually, I don't like simulations very much. I'm an adventurer and role-player, and I've never been a friend of sports games. In fact, even in reality I can't think of anything more boring than sports. I even hate football ... and I'm living in Germany! But this game here got me hooked for hours, days, weeks, months and years.

Brøderbund brought us several high quality games (such as Lode Runner, Karateka, Prince of Presia, Stunts), but I guess their most successful series is without a doubt Where in ___ is Carmen Sandiego?

This time let’s take a look at one of the older games of the series (most of them have been remade later on), the one where Carmen’s crime wave hits Europe.

Seeing how well the new quest series (SQ) was selling, Sierra decided to create new quests for gamers all over the world. This time they turned their attention to the world of the American police. PQ1 was made to be as realistic as possible. So in order to book the criminals you will have to follow strict police procedures, fail in this and the criminals may walk.

World Class Rugby was made in 1992 by a company called Denton design, to put in a computerized game for one of the most important sports played throughout the Commonwealth countries, and to celebrate the world cup.
