Abandonware

I must say I simply love mazes, all sorts of mazes, so I was quite interested in this game. Unfortunately that only made the disappointment that much greater. 

There are no mazes. 

This game became somewhat of an obsession for me to find. I literally found every other game in the Super Solver series (and a few that weren’t) looking for this one. So it’s going to be difficult to review it objectively.

You are an archeologist, who has discovered the terrible curse of Hahmid III. The course says that once the Sun is blackened and no longer shines on the Temple of Ra, the whole world would be destroyed. And guess what, a Total Solar Eclipse is about to happen and it will be seen right above Egypt. As you know this would mean the end of the world, you set off to find and destroy the temple (loot all the treasures on the way – to finance your expedition) and save the world in the process.

It would be misleading to call Crush! Deluxe a sports game, because that would bring to mind games like the FIFA and NBA games, which are based on real sports. Crush! Deluxe is better described as a turn-based strategy game, based on a sport that exists within the game world. (Nothing in the game hints at it being a game within a game though. That would have made things even more confusing.)

Claw is an arcade-style platforming game for Windows, developed and published in 1997 by Monolith, the creators of such games as F.E.A.R. and No One Lives Forever. The version available on Abandonia, and the one I am reviewing, is version 1.3, which has been made easier than the original version by decreasing the number of points needed to obtain an extra life, from 1,000,000 to 500,000, while decreasing the difficulty of non-boss enemies.

Outline:
Whale's Voyage is essentially an RPG that features space-trading elements: Your crew visits several planets, where they can barter a range of goods and accomplish certain missions in order to increase their budget and obtain better equipment for themselves and for their ship.
