Abandonware

I was really angry with my brother when he sold his old Commodore 64, because I had wanted it, so I decided to buy one secondhand (which I still have), along with a disk drive and a bunch of games. A very intriguing one was Crime Time, although when I played it back then I always ended up in jail or worse.

Much later, I got the PC version - it fitted on a single floppy disk with room to spare - yet I was still unable to finish the game.

Zeppelins were quite an incredible invention. As you probably know, they were giant airships that were mostly used for passenger flights in the early days of the 20th Century. Their fate was finally sealed by the Hindenburg disaster which to the modern mind was inevitable, airships vanished. Their popularity hadn't been helped by some German tours in the first and second world war when they delivered somewhat less welcome cargos, though to little effect other than psychological.

The standard English-Slovene dictionary doesn't know the word edutainment. I guess that's because it's not a real word; it's a word I learned playing Sam 'n Max Hit the Road. It's supposed to mean education and entertainment at the same time. And if there was ever something to which this word really applied, it's the game series Where in ___ is Carmen Sandiego?.

This game is the sequel to Spirit of Excalibur. A bit more then a year has passed since the first game has finished and King Constantine is the sovereign sitting in the throne of King Arthur (thanks to you, if you played and finished part one) and the realm of Englande is prosperous and a joyful place to live in.

V for Victory is a wargame from early 1991 that has four scenario packs. However, when it was initially released to public, it was sold like one game and three expansions. Now you can get this game with his four scenarios in a single download.

Brett Hull Hockey 95 was made in 1994 by Radical Entertainment and published by Accolade for Nintendo, and Sega systems. Due to its huge success it was also launched for PC in 1995. The sales of the PC release resulted in two sequels, none of which matched the original.

For me Brett Hull Hockey 95 is one of the best hockey games ever made for PC. The graphics are very good, and the game-play is fantastic.

It's time for some racing. Super Karts is a good arcade game. Which means it's not too realistic, but it's still fun to play.

There are two modes to play in. One is arcade style where you get lives and points by collecting money someone dropped on the track. The more money you collect the better. You will also get money for good racing results, so don't stay too far behind when collecting it.

Here's yet another game I first played on Commodore 64. It was only later I found out that this game is the first ever PC game to feature the character of Sherlock Holmes. A part from Sherlock and naturally Watson, you will meet many actual people of that historical era (including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle himself).
