Somehow I don't know anyone who doesn't love this little mustached guy with the funny suit and the cap. He's always been a part of our lives, weather we are absolute gaming freaks or just the casual a-game-here-and-there-type.

One of his first multiplayer adventures is this one, Super Mario Brothers. It features Mario's brother, Luigi, equally adorable. Together they have to defeat the evil turtles and reach the last stage. Sounds boring? That's what I thought, too. But it is actually quite a nice game and definitive classic.

The Gameplay is simple, yet fun. As pointed out earlier, the turtles have to be destroyed. You cannot jump on top of them, so you have to do it from underneath. How, I will not tell you - figure it out yourself! Another important thing is the "POW" button. Just press it. You'll see what happens!

The Graphics in this game are simple, yet somewhat colorful, just as you'd expect it from one of the early VGA-compatible games. It has only 16 colors, but still a nice atmosphere. Think Commander Keen for example. If you don't need the full 256 colors or even more, this is your game.

The Controls couldn't be easier, and this is also where the game gets its points: You can freely adjust the keys for Left, Right, and Jump, to each individual player. And the controls are not all that you can adjust.

Sound is a little difficult for a PC Speaker driven game, but still, it manages to produce quite catchy sounds when you jump, bump into a turtle, or whatever. There is, however, no music at all in this game, so it may be a little boring after a while.

In conclusion, I can only recommend this game to anyone who is not bored by 16 colors and PC Speaker sounds. Still, it is a great classic that is definitely worth trying out. I'll even say you have to play it once in your life, or else you miss out on some great Oldschool gaming.
4 points from me!
