Strap on your space suit; prepare yourself and teleport right into the world that waits. Not all is what it seems and your task of recovering stolen items is made more difficult by the many enemies, which are where Captain Comic comes in! That is right it's Captain Comic, a sort of older hero from way back in 1988. Still this is a fun platform game that shows you what it was like for platform games back in the day. Well it was back in the day and even if you weren't there... Oh sorry song moment, anyway continuing onward see what this title has to offer.

The story of Captain Comic is Captain Comic has come to the planet of Tambi to recover the treasures stolen from the planet Omsoc. Simple premise keeping in mind this was the early days of platform games, least it has somewhat of a story so that's a plus. You will notice right away with the graphics, there is not much in terms of sound either, with the odd blips and bops you will hear so prepare yourself for what is to come.

Graphically the game looks good for it's age. The screen shows plenty of colour for both your character, the enemies and the different environments that you will encounter. It is good all around in this area, it is not spectacular, but keeping in mind when it was released it looks good all around. There always is plenty of action on screen as well with the different enemies in the different worlds you'll see, and sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming with the amount that comes at you. Especially with the tactic of the enemies suddenly appearing when you jump and such as was common with platform games of the time. Still it's manageable and requires quick reflexes mostly. The game itself is easy to pick up and get started, eventually you'll start finding items, and soon you'll end up at the castle where you need the main item of them all, the sacred crown.

As was said earlier there isn't much in terms of sound. Or music for that matter, considering the game is only 88 Kb in size that's pretty much the main reason why, it doesn't hurt the game I think though. The controls seem a bit loose at times especially with jumping, so there may be the odd time you over jump a platform and it takes some time getting used to that, but it shouldn't take too long.

Still though this was a fun game and was interesting to see game is called Captain Comic, see if you can lead him to a successful mission for the planet Omsoc! Let's hear it for Planet Omsoc, no? Well just play the game then.
