Titus Interactive, the people who brought us Crazy Cars, also made a really fun action and driving game in 1989 called Fire and Forget. This is the second game in the series, made in 1990.
The story goes like this. An evil madman and his cronies are driving towards your city, ready to blow it up with a nuke. This, you must prevent. You must drive through five levels of shooting, jumping, flying and suicide robots, towards the big boss in order to stop him from making it to his leader. At the end of the fifth level, you will face off against the evil madman in an attempt to stop him from firing the nuke.
Like most arcade games, this one has a point system. You receive points for every robot and boss you get and the points are tallied after you have won a level or lost a level. You use the arrow keys to accelerate, slow down, and turn left and right. You use the spacebar to fire your cars' guns.
As far as music goes, it may seem like your usual blips and bleeps. I haven't heard more than three songs, but they are enjoyable enough to just make you stop and listen. At least to me, anyway. One in particular that caught my ear is the music that plays when you lose the game.
Gameplay is somewhat difficult. You will probably die many times in this game by running into the suicide robots.
I enjoyed this game very much and hope you will too. I give it a 3 because I think it could have had more variety in enemies, weapons, and music, but all in all, it is a game that shouldn't be passed up. I predict you will enjoy it a lot.
Dear Abandonia visitors: We are a small team that runs one of the largest DOS Games websites in the world. We have only 3 members of staff, but serve 450,000 users and have outgoing costs like any other top site for example: our servers, power, rent, programs, and staff. Abandonia is something special. It is a library of old games for you to download. It is like an old gaming arcade with all the old games in their original format. Abandonia is a place where you can find great old games and have fun four hours and years. To protect our independence, we are dependent of our friends using the site. We run on donations averaging around 6 USD (5 Euro). If everyone reading this gave the price of a cup of coffee, our fundraiser would be made easier. If Abandonia is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online for another year. Please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.
