Dear Abandonia visitors: Help us keep Abandonia free with a small donation. Abandonia is like an old gaming arcade with only original games. Abandonia helps you have fun four hours and years. If Abandonia is useful to you, please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still keeping the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

‐ Thank you from the Abandonia Team

Mixed-Mother Goose was designed by Roberta Williams, and it saw various releases over the years that used the different evolutions of Sierra’s adventure game engines.
This version is the rare 1991 SCI EGA release of the game. Most people are familiar with the original 1987 AGI release of the game or the SCI VGA CDROM release of the game. The SCI EGA engine that is used in this version of Mixed-Up Mother Goose was also used in other Sierra games such as Space Quest III and Police Quest II.
Mixed-Up Mother Goose is an adventure game aimed at younger children. Because of the game’s target audience, there are no complex puzzles or user interface. The player can control the on screen character with a mouse, joystick or keyboard, and walking onto an item that can be carried will add it to the one item inventory.
The goal of the game is to find items or people and return them to their owners or place in order to complete nursery rhythms. For instance, Jack and Jill have lost their pail and you’ll need to find it and return it to them. After successfully returning an item to its proper place or owner, the rhythm will then be acted out with an animated sequence accompanied by printed lyrics and a MIDI rendition of the rhythm’s music.
Although playing through a complete game will probably only take an hour or two, the player’s progress can be saved to disk, and restored later if desired. Once all of the rhythms have been completed, the player will win the game.
The 1991 SCI EGA version features better graphics, animation and music than the original 1987 AGI release of the game, and it is definitely worth a look, especially to Sierra Online fans and collectors because of its rarity.

Start the game with SCIV.exe
Running install.exe will allow the user to change game options such as the sound card that is used. MT-32 sounds the best if you have the proper DOSBOX build to emulate it, otherwise stick with ADLIB sound.
