Hello Everybody!

This Site is very great. I've decided to tell You a problem I can't solve.

I know the game "In Extremis" is not a very good one, but I've played it as I were younger.

I've downloaded the game and I can start it, but after the intro the menu appears and I can't do anything. The "Run" ist blinking but I can't start the game.

Who can help me?

Thanks for answering

More informations are needed if you want us to help you. Your computer specs, which OS you use, did you try DOSBox and/or VDMSound, etc.

I don't really know what the problem might be... Did you try all the keys on the keyboard?

Your computer sure looks powerfull enough to run DOSBox, so this should not be the problem. Do you know how to raise the cycles?

I've run many Dos Games in DosBox and all of them are running fine.

Yes I know how to change/increase the Cycles, but it doesn't seems to have to do with speed.

When I run the Game, after the fine working Intro, the Menu appears and then I can't do anything.

The Game doesen't react to neither the mouse or keyboard.

Did you try running the setup file to make sure that the controller is not set to a joystick or something similar?

There is only one configfile, here you can set the sound.

The sound in the intro is working realy fine.

Does the game run properly at your PC?

I'll try to download it and make it run on my PC, but as usual The Underdogs are stupidly slow...

Might take a while, I'll probably get you back on this tomorow.

Edit: Well, been faster than I thought.

I tryied it with VDMSound, and it gave me this error message;

Please uninstall your Ems manager from mem.

This is an obvious call for me; use DOSBox and disable EMS in it.

Used DOSBox 0.63, removed EMS... Game is working, sound is working, but I'm stuck with the same problem than you; I've hit all the buttons on my keyboard and on my mouse and the game refuse to aknowledge my commands.

Now, two things which doesn't help here; the game obviously been made by a French company. Not a good sign of quality in term or code and execution... Second, it's directly from HotU and I'm sorry to tell you and many games I downloaded from there were simply not in working order.

Other than that, I have no idea what the problem might be... Maybe asking the DOSBox creators or using a lower version might help here.

At least now we have more information to work with.
