Are these taken from the game and put together? Or are they just scanned?

mostly they are ripped from Game. Either with Ripper-Program or with Screenshots-capture (most Emulator have one, DOSBox too). You cant scan a Game.

Very few Maps are not taken from Game (like Abandoned Places Maps or The Legacy).

Nah Paco, I understand the principle behind VGMaps, but I found it kinda weird that those maps aren't shown together in-game.

MM4 Maps are mostly compete besides some few dungeon which can only enter with keys from MM5.

am currently working on MM5 Maps. After that Final Fantasy 2 Maps are next.
