i read a bit around. Remedy ported it to Windows-Version and relased it as Freeware, but 3D Realms still sells the DOS-Version of it on the Website.
@Fifth what do you think?

The Windows version is only the freeware release of the game. There was no original Windows version of the game. One could identify this more like some sort of support from the developer, not a separate release, that could be differentiated from the original DOS release.
Yes, 3D Realms might still sell it, but that has no real influence on the status of this game now. It' freeware, but like with all freeware games, it's freeware only as the package offered as such by the developer. So if Remedy says here's a new package of the game, it's freeware, then of course wwe're supposed to use that package oly, and not the previous version.
