It's kind of impossible to notice a new trend (or is it new?) among newbies lately who ask about a game and then ask us to send it to their email adress...
I mean, are we entitled to even consider reading those posts? More often than not they are so short you can't actually even understand what his/her problem would be, why would we even wish to send them the game or even communicate via email instead of "talking" to them on this board? Most of the time, it's going along the line of "can't download, send it to me!" while it's quite obvious (IMHO) that most of those post simply mean "I tryied to get a game with a program like GetRight or GetZilla and it did not work, so I guess the link is broken". Or they simply really been unlucky and really could not download it, but if they tryied later on they would probably get it on the second try? I don't know... I'm kind of getting annoyed by those posts. Sometime I wonder if it's only a smart but lame attemp to get some games which are not ABW and/or still sold, other times I wonder if I actually fail to see the point and should really try to contact them... Anybody else have an oppinion about this? |

Worse for me are those who have a problem and instead of posting in the thread select someone to email about the problem!
But then I suppose if people aren't familiar with forums or downloading games they may truly be completely confused and don't know what to do! I don't think sending games by email is practical. I'm not aware of any dead links on the site and I've never had any corrupt zips from the site so I think we should just suggest they try again. If the links don't work with GetRight use something else! I use Firefox and I've never had a problem with its Download Manager! Yes I do find it irritating. However, I think we should be as helpful as possible but by providing constructive help rather than emailing games! |

I find those posts irritating myself and they should be either deleted or ignored as they serve no real purpose. This is not a place where people exchange games by email so...

I find those posts incredibly annoying because they assume this is a warez site!
