The floppy disk version of Future wars has a bug, the guard will always detect you regardless of when you use the invisibility pill. It is impossible to complete the game with this version.
A CD-ROM version of this game was released later, distributed by Sony Electronic Publishing , it fixed the bugs has more animation and excellent music and sound effects. Most recommended! (around 14 megs)

I´ve never proved the following: you arrived by a spaceship and you had to stand up, eat the invisible pill and pass the guard to the elevator and go down. The effect of the pill was very short and it was impossible to pass the guard withouth touching him. Did anyone proved this? How´s the way?

in 1990 wasn't so much CPU power like today.. if game flicker try to run it in dosbox and reduce CPU cycle (CTRL F11 to lower - 300-600 in my PC works fine)

i have the same problem as cowo and changing the framerate (up or down) doesn't help much. Neither does any level of frameskip for that matter.

14 mb ? As far as i know cd version of this game contains music in cd-audio format , which takes a lot of space ... and another question : where did you saw it ?
