Lightbulb Abadia del Crimen

Hi Admins

I have this Spanish adventure game based on Umberto Ecco's "The Name of the Rose" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Name_of_the_rose).

It was an absolute classic in Spain and I thought it may be good to post it... Plus, it does not take up a lot of bandwidth!

Let me know if I can upload it and, if so, what I should do.

Many thanks!

Do you need much knowledge of spanish language? If so, then the game wouldn't suite to the policy of the site afaik...

I'm afraid you do... Although this game is truly legendary here:

There's a refurbishing for Windows (made in Win32 assembly) with 256 colours and DirectX sound:

Too bad! Looks interesting. If I had the time, I would dig up my spanish knowledge and play that game...

Ah, sure, with Japofran's link, that should be grand!

It takes less memory space than the Windows calculator, which is something, considering it was released 21 years ago!

Great game altogether!

Is there a chance this non-English game could be hosted in Abandonia? What do updaters etc. say? I see Abandonia started to host non-English extras some time ago...

Yes Abadia Del Crimen was a huge success and a great technical achievement at the time of the release. It still has a huge fan base all over the world - not bad considering the game was only released in Castilian Spanish.

Antonio Giner of http://www.abadiadelcrimen.com/ who did the 32 bits remake is working on a multi language version of the game for some time - and that will definitely see the light of day (I should know because I did the Portuguese translation).

Meanwhile I highly encourage you to get an MSX emulator and try Manuel Pazos color remake at: http://personales.mundivia.es/mpazos/abadia/index.html
(Versiones -> Remake en color -> English version)

@Japo: we could ask Kosta, but I'm quite sure he won't answer soon.
Let's hope for the English version of Antonio Giner.
