You probably already seen it or heard about. Peter Cech has a fracture at the base of the skull.
I can't believe how much stupidity it needs to tackle into a goalie like that.
I play soccer as well and I am goalie.
When I think that there are maybe similar people playing in my league, I get sick.

I read in a german goalkeeper-forum that the medics were worried for his life, cause they feared that his brain could swell up. *vomit*

Comment, please.

To me the blow Cudicini took seemed much worse. But that's the problem of proffesional sports, not just football, injuries are a normal thing, and of course sometimes they can be life threatning.

It looks to me like Hunt, most likely because he doesn't want to run on in to the advertising boards, decides to either stop or turn, and, as a result, ends up putting his knee where Cech's head is. I doubt he meant to hit him, but at the same time, also being a goalie myself, I can't just dismiss that as "part and parcel" of the game.

I sure hope Cech hasn't been done any permanent damage.

I have difficulties with agreeing to that.
Doesn't he see that Cech is faster than him?
Doesn't he see that he has no chance of touching the ball when it's still free?
Doesn't he see that going after that ball is pretty much pointless cause there's both keeper and defender closer than him? He could slow down and see if one of them makes a mistake or drops the ball and then go after it.

Of course football can be much of a struggle but this brainless in my opinion.

I never said that Hunt wasn't stupid. I just don't think he meant to hit Cech.

I've played both soccer and Gaelic as a 'keeper. Currently I'm only playing soccer.
I found Gaelic much harder to play, and to be quite honest, I don't enjoy watching it since they changed the hand passing rules. Looks like they're playing basketball on a big pitch.
