Cool

Terminator Future Shock sucked!
When i first saw a freind of mine playing it i thought, yeah cool, the graphics looked pretty good, and who wouldn't want to shoot terminators!
But once you actually played the game for 5 minutes, it stank!

At least with Duke Nukem, it might not have been the prettiest, but it was definitely more fun to play.

Shadow Warrior comes a close second, for anyone who hasn't played it.. think Duke Nukem, meets Big Trouble in Little China... hilarious

I would have chosen System Shock but I don't think that it excelled in the actual FPS genre I thought it was much more of an adventure/RPG. Thats why I had to pick Duke k:

tis def. duke3d great action, nice humor and cool gfx for the time. that game was proof that the build engine was the best 2.5d engine. i also remember really wanting redneck rampage at the time, but not being able to get it...

edit, decenst doesn't REALLY belong here. it always struck me as more of a flight-sim with FPS aspects than a true FPS. it's prolly the best game on the list but i didn't vote for it 'cuz its not really an FPS.

Well the best early fps from which I can choose here is definetly System Shock. But I still think that Terminator Future Shock should be here  ´
Duke3D was very nice and funny game with excellent gameplay, but it was -just-
very good doom-clone

Out of those? System Shock by a mile. Altough Dark Forces should really be up there, it's Doom with beter gameplay, plot (it tries), and level design. Back when Star Wars games were good.

I tried to like Dark Forces, i couldnt.

The only FPSs that i completely enjoyed were the Doom games. Ah, and Medal Of Honour on PS1, i thought that was awesome at the time.

There are two choises: Doom 1 or 2; System Shock; I vote SS but Doom was cool too.

I'd have to throw my vote to Duke Nukem 3D
