This was the first RPG I ever played and I looked through several pages on this site and others for a recognizable screenshot, but haven't had luck yet.
Anyways, the title screen had a giant red dragon, I think fighting some little warrior guy with the game's title somewhere in the mix. You would start the game at this outpost thing, where you could learn languages, buy stuff, and a bunch of other stuff. If you tried to steal from the tavern and got caught, sometimes they'd cut your guy's hand off. So when you go out into the world area, all the monsters look like gray monks and when they run into you or you run into them, it goes to a different screen where you see what kind of monster it is and fight it from there. There was also this stone with a sword in it out there somewhere, and the stone was inscribed with something like "whoever pulls the sword from this stone shall never see england's throne". There were alot of glitches that I remember. Well I'll try to scour my brain for more details if I can remember any. |

It's a much older game. No voices, limited graphics. |

It had a similar setup to the Bard's Tales series of games.

It used a party that you would create from scratch, was set in a medievel period, and had a 3d view only when in the outside world. Otherwise it just showed a picture of the town or location in the town.

I definitely wouldn't mind reviewing Death Gate, as it is one of my favourite Legend games (and I like Legend a LOT). I think the size of the game may be a problem, though. I don't think it was ever released in a floppy version, and I know that the version they have on HOTU is ripped from a cd.
I have the cd if anyone knows how to rip it. |
