This is a common problem seen in Sierra's adventures, not just limited to this game. I've experienced it in Quest for Glory II and King's Quest V.
IMHO, I think you should do the quests in a different order. Do something else which triggers another sequence elsewhere before returning to the other appartments. I'm not sure of the speed factor though but I think the core should be set at normal and taper down the cycles to 4000 or less, depending on your actual machine. |

Well I got the game working under windows 3.11 which I installed under dosbox.
