I miss the ability to "click to enlarge" the screenshots that goes with the reviews.

That's because the pictures aren't made smaller
The games are old and the resolutions are low and when they are put into modern resolutions they look very small on the screen. |

Aah, didn't think of that
*edit* I tried zooming a screenshot 400% (Firefox plugin) and it looks great. One "solution" could be to enlarge the picture 400% using The GIMP or another tool just like it. It would be smoother than using the plugin in my opinion. *edit* I tried with some other screenshots and noticed that the quality varies a lot. Day of the Tentacle looks great while Darkseed looks horrible... |

Lets see... 400-500 games... all have an average of 8 screens...
That is 3 200 - 4 000 screenshots... an average of 20 KB in size... *counts on fingers* that is 64 - 80 MB in screens alone. Now let's say we increace those screenshots by 400%... I'll let you do the math

increase of 400% is the same as multiplying by 5, 'cos you end up with (100 + 400)% of the original amount.

I divided by 100, getting the number for 1%, then multiplied that with 400, getting the number for 400% It's what I've been doing in Economics class for years in highschool, and it was always right that way

what you got was 400% of the original amount, but we need 500% of that for an INCREASE of 400%.
of course, if we are increasing the dimensions by 400% without affecting the quality then each file is 25 times larger, so the total is more like 1600 to 2000 MB, a hell of a lot of screenies! |

You could just make it open a generated page that has the same image, but in an img tag that increases the size to double or so. That way you don't waste any disk space... just let the browser do the resizing.
Of course if you got Opera like me, you just press [CTRL][+] and it's all double size :P |
