Default Frotz download is so broken

Title. Whenever I try to download Frotz 2.32 using the link provided from your Programs Section. I download it without a problem but, as soon as I try to open it, WinRAR and WinZip start yelling something about bad EOF.

It would be nice to solve that problem. Besides, there is a newer version stored at IF Archive (version 2.40), in case you want to use it as the new download.

Hmm... I tested FROTZ232.ZIP archive with File Roller under Ubuntu and with 7-Zip under Windows, and it is okay here. But yeah, I agree that if a newer version is available it would be a good idea to provide it as a new download.

Which archive from that link is the correct one? I don't see any Frotz 2.40 there.

Well, WinRAR yells bad EOF and 7-Zip gets me a generic file that does nothing but scream about an illegal operation, and that is on Windows Vista. Even WinZip and Vista's built-in zip archiver fail to extract it.

But, when opening it with Ubuntu's Archive Manager, it works flawlessly... I don't know.

Oh, I'm sorry. As Paco said, it is DJGPPFrotz240.zip.

I can open and extract the old one with WinRAR for Windows x64 and PKZip for DOS. I'd try re-installing/updating WinRAR.

I've seen "unsupported operation" or similar messages from 7zip before when trying to drag-and-drop. It's not because of the archive, it's always fine if I use another extractor, I'm not sure but I suspect 7zip has a lot of "non-essential" features not implemented yet. It's a very powerful program regarding the compression ratios of the 7zip format and the other formats it supports, but feature-wise it's pretty poor.

It seems so. For whatever reason, every Windows I have gets the file without the last 10 bytes.

EDIT: "Whatever reason" is called Internet Explorer 6 (old xp computer), 7 and 8.
