Adventure games where what shaped my profession as a programmer. I loved adventure games so much that I wanted to write my own, and I did, although nothing retail quality. There were no game design class in college or How-To books back then.

Anyway, I played the old games you probably have never heard of - Asylum, Pyramid, Bedlam, Dallas Quest, etc. - on the TRS-80 and the Color Computer. Of course, I also played them up the line from Scott Adam's to Infocom to Sierra On-Line and Lucas Arts.

I understand it isn't retail quality, but the price is right... I wrote The Monday Adventure, back on an IBM mainframe then ported it many years later to Windows. It is a hybrid of text and point and click. Scott Adams himself said "I love it." It has been dl over 20,000 times, was on Download.com and ZNet for a while.

Yes, I'm asking you to try it out, just for the fun of it. Http://www.MikelRice.com

Also, I have completed a completely text only game - another port from my mainframe days - that I need a beta test or two on. My last beta testers just did not have the love and passion for adventure games so they did "understand" the point.

If anyone would be willing to play test it, please let me know. I really would like to release it this year. Thanks in advance.

I wish I could count all the classic adventure games I played in my life.

Anyway, give a try to Les Manley adventures, which are on abandonia.com

Les Manley - Lost in L.A
Les Manley - Search for the King

2. i dont like the myst games though they are a bit boring :not_ok: but my siblings love it

3. i've only ever played a small bit of one of the monkey island games. the bit with the duel with a pirate.

Big Red Adventure is one of the best adventure games out there; great plot, wicked characters, hilarious humour, and it takes loooong to complete it. A bit nasty to get running, though.

Cool

hehe DUNGEON MASTER is the best point and click for me

there is a site now that allows you to draw your own levels for this

I created a new 10 level set up for DM but after all that work, I got some pretty disappointing feedback ..... :not_ok: hehe never mind I still love the original!!

Isn't Dungeon Master an RPG more than a Point and Click adventure?
