![]() One game that I remember having a few years ago was called "Outpost". I can't remember much about it now except it that it was a sci-fi space game and I enjoyed playing it. Anyone else remember it?
I just had a search for it, and it seems that it was by Sierra in 1994. Doesn't seem to be on sale anymore. I've only checked Gamespot. |

![]() Protected by esa so it will not be on the site. Also this game got a Real Dog award which means that it's really horrible, anyone else got an opinion?

![]() It was an awful game. Not merely dull, but broken, too. The underlying statistical engine that tracked your entries and surrounding environment numbers usually started showing very weird anomalies halfway through a game. I never met a person who actually managed to complete it successfully.
Sierra hyped it big, despite its being broken. And it bombed massively. |

![]() Actually I do remember a point when I got quite far and then the whole thing just seemed to implode. Some of the features just stopped working.

![]() This game got so awfull ratings in PC mags of the time, I think it was the first time I was reading about a review with such a low score... And pretty much all mags seemed to agree.
I personally own Outpost 2 and it's a very nice game a la Dune2, but with a story and with a built-in novel you could read. Everytime you finished a chapter of the game you could read a chapter of the story. A little hard with a lot of micro management but very nice. Because of the same reason tough, I don't beleive I'll see Outpost 2 ABW in my lifetime. A game becomming ABW is one thing, but I don't think the concept of ABW apply to novels and such... |

![]() This game had so many mixed feelings in it.
People gave it excellent ratings, and they gave it horrible ratings. If there ever was a game that said "Different tastes for different people" It would be this one, I actually like the tedious repetition. I own Outpost 2, and for god's sake, if you can, upload it to the site, it was really underrated and it's a wonderful game.

![]() I played it once, and hated it. It was a buggy annoyance.

![]() It's protected because it's dead, in other words it's a license nobody wants.
