That was into the plot of the first game, Nordic mythology: Valkiries, Ragnarok...if you remember Max Payne had nightmares during the game, he talked about demons, fallen angels...and there's also a level called Ragnarok...I think it could be related to that.
Don't know if those creatures are an effect of the drug or part of nightmares btw.

That's the problem: if they're only hallucinations of the drug induced junkies - fine by me. But otherwise: find me a level in the game where I could fight winged demons that look like they escaped from Blizzard's "Diablo"...

I've seen the movie. As a diehard max payne fan, I have to say that it was not only a subpar action film, but a sub par adaption of Max Payne. the general storyline is obviously similar, but many large and important elements are different- I don't want to spoil anything, though. and it seems to have covered parts of the first game, and one or two of the second.

Woah, sounds bad, however here in Italy we have to wait until 28th of November
At least I hope that the money collected from the movie will be enough to let them finish a third title of the game series

it's meh. bad translation to movie but if you watch it without considering it as an adaptation of a game, you could do worse for a movie to see.

The biggest problem is that the movie takes itself far too seriously. It's not tongue-in-cheek like the games themselves are.

After all I liked it, as I expected it was impossible for the director to follow Max's full path and the whole plot of the game.
They left space for a sequel so that's probably why there aren't parts taken from the second game.
Funny thing to see Nelly Furtado as actress

no, it was mila kunis your thinking about. but when a character does something that is completely out of character (not spoiling it for people who haven't seen it) as max does later in the film, they have f***ed up on some level. and it's missing vital characters that were present in the first game. but apart from taking serious liberties with the game's storyline, i thought it was ok as a seperate film.
