I found this site (thanks to my niece), and it offers some full length features. I recon it's a clean site regarding piracy, they will remove any protected movies and take action against anyone uploading pirated movies.

The reason you'll find full lengths, is because the flicks have gone public domain due to the fact that they are old. Don't let this scare you away however, Battleship Potemkin is still an important film in film history. So, if you're interested in seeing what went on some decades ago, here's your chance.

It also offers downloads, but that requires registration and installation of this software. However, the online view is restricted to some 7-9 minutes I think, so for those feature films, you'll have to go along with this.

(IF you find pirated stuff here, please report back, and this topic will be taken care of)

Thanks for the link Mighty Midget - I love film repositries like this! Anything that helps keep works that have fallen into the public domain alive gets a big thumbs up from me k: The only downside is that my paid hours of productivity are going to go right down.

Hell yes! Yay for public domain, and an even bigger yay for Creative Commons!!! - These guys are helping create works of all genres (film, gaming, art etc.) that are not tied up for 60 odd years in constricting copyright laws that stifle creativity (but earn money for big companies - *cough* Disney, I'm looking at you *cough*) For example, if more games were licenced under CC, then "abandonware" would no longer be a dirty word

Anyways, us Abandonians should all be supporters of Public Domain works and Creative Commons because we couldn't really exist without it.

Another great source for films, animation, games, documentaries and cultural ephemera from all around the world is of course the great and glorious Internet Archive. They have films in many different languages, and my personal favourite - the original Night Of The Living Dead - now that's a movie with classy zombies, not these new-fangled gore fests of today. Of course, all these films are available for streaming and/or free download.

Thanks again for the link Mighty Midget - you've made me a very happy girl this morning

You're welcome, Lulu Jane Glad to hear. And NotLD is a fantastic movie! 10 thumbs way up! I also like the noirs like DOA and M. Fantastic movies. Now, I will give Metropolis a third chance. The first two ended with me falling asleep at the same moment of the film. I will get to see the whole thing....

Gotta check out that IA link. Thanks a ton for that one! k:

May i suggest (to those who haven't seen it yet) the finish movie Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning. The movie is available as free download. It's a SCI-FI parody. And a good one IMO.

here is their site: http://www.starwreck.com/

Since there is so many seeders it downloads very quickly (had a 113kB/s on torrent).

For those that don't understand Finnish, the movie has english subtitles.

Lifts-Her-Tail: But it is huge! It could take me all night!
Crantius Colto: Plenty of time, my sweet. Plenty of time.
