So yes, I am mixed genre games positive. Yet the line, dividing the two genres, has to be masterfuly camouflaged, otherwise the game may become too boring/straightforward.

I am one of those Diablo-haters. :embarassed:

I also don't think it really falls under mixed.

Evil Islands: Curse of the Lost Soul, the *sequel* to Rage of Mages series, combining RPG, stealth, and a bit of strategy. Nice one, I recently played it.

Well, there aren't a lot really - just these two: The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rings, which is a lame rip off of the Warcraft series...and the legendary The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth.

If you don't have an old computer and are a fan of mixed FRP-strategy, you should play it - I don't know a single person that disliked it. Even more if you're a Tolkien fan.

The only downfall of it is that it didn't pay to be based off the books, but the movies actually. Not a major setback at all, I actually think it's rather nice having Ian McKellen and/or Christopher Lee as the main character/narrator. This means that there are no wildmen n on Isengard's side and that the defender's are also joined by a detachment of Sylvan Elves.

Trust me - you wouldn't regret it.

System Shock I and II, Sacrifice. Three games that are pure awesomeness.

Battlezone 1-2 (FPS/RTS)

Battlezone 1 played the more significant part in my gaming life. Before that, FPS were jut crazy shooters like Wolf, or Doom. This was a a complex ride, but it was also amongst the first few games, that succesfully made me believe that I am in a complex world. You had to order your droids around, build stuff, and not from above the skies, like a god, but you were actually a soldier on the battlefield, so every cannon blast, or laser beam felt real. It definitely wasn't the best game around, but it was a totally unique experience.
