Like I said, this idea is not exactly new. It's been on and off discusions for over half a year now, so I did spend a lot of thought on it (and people have been talking about it a lot). I just hope it works this time!

1) There should be an open part of the forum, where you could ask for technical support in your own language (you wouldn't even need to register - like you don't need to now).
If you can't ask a question in your own language - then what's the point in reading a review in your language. It's easier to get some basic idea about the game in a foregin language you only half way understand, then to ask and understand a specific game related question in a foregin language.
I think that is a wonderful thought

but dificult to put working because , i think it´s needed more people with time avaliblein foreign language, and i think the adandonia, can do it with 3 or 4 for language, and the problem from most part of the language continue.

I wholly agree with BrainDead and swiss. I think their arguments are irefutable and show exactly why it would be a bad idea to go forward with this.
I voted disagree.

  • it would be a logistic nightmare
  • Most forum users speak English fairly well, why fix what isn't broken?
  • Language uniformity is not equal to cultural uniformity.
Tom's already said everything that needs to be said about point #1... point #'s 2 and 3 have been covered pretty well by everyone else.

OK I know this was posted over two months ago, but since I was away and this topic is bumped I'll use the opportunity...

OK your first point stands although if there would a subforum for each language it wouldn't be such a problem to make 9-10 whatever subforums and put moderators which would be some or all of translators for that particular language...

The second point is ridicioulus, because those people who read translated reviews probably don't know the English language and when they see that the forum is in English onl they obviously won't join or even search for help with their problems, and let's not forget that there's been more than one case when people posted a topic of gratitude or their wish to help in their own language...

Third point:what's the point of diversity if you can't use the forum, only those English knowing can?

Also read Sebatianos post(which most of you seemed to ignore) since my opinion is near it...

Hmm these are all valid points, but I think that, as a fair few people have said, splitting people up always creates the worst in people.

For example -

Aparthide
Pretty much the entirety of American history
Pretty much any empire (Dutch, British, Spanish, French, Austrian etc.)
India-Pakistan
Pakistan-Bangladesh
(although those two were, again, Britain's fault)

People are not brung closer by getting split up, they just start hating everyone else.

I imagine that quite a lot of people resent talking English and probably don't like a lot of the native speakers of the language, some of whom point out that they don't speak perfect English.

To them, all I can say is - Have a go at learning the other person's first language then. I know that I'd have trouble learning, for example, dialect Finnish (please don't contradict me A.J. or Juni if you're around) and so I should be nasty to people who find it hard speaking English.

I think that what this forum needs is more tolerance rather than different sections for different languages.

Anyway, the multi-languagers are winnig at the moment with 53.57% of the vote so I might just be speaking rubbish.

This is only for support of games to make abandonia closer to those who can't speak English...
Your point with splitting up people just doesn't stand, because why do we have translations at all that could also be called splitting up people...
And why do you people think it would split up this forum, because if you'd read what some people posted you'd understand that this isn't for the whole forum but only for giving out help for some games that don't work and hearing comments that someone may not know how to say in English...

Hmm I'm still not sure. In an ideal world we could all speak our minds with something like the Babel Fish (which translates any language in the universe) and hold meaningful conversations to each other in any language, but that's not the way it'll work.

Also, reviews are one thing that are more useful in a native language, but a forum is a way to communicate, not something that comments on games. They're two completely different things.
