If you insist of running the game in plain Windoze... You can change the language settings in Windows Control Panel, under Globalization (I think it's called that way in English version... it's a little globe icon, anyway...). The cursor vanishes only if the code page setting for non-unicode programs is set to Japanese.

If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about,I suggest you use DosBox to run this game instead. You can download it here.

I used Korea's saved game, and found the lost mine on the left end of the screen. You can refer to the map, it shows something similar. The mine is just above the river before the river is cornered.

Wow!!! I just downloaded this game and I loved it!!!! It's just the style of game I like! It reminds me of my beloved Harvest Moon. It's like a Harvest Moon meets American Old West.... or maybe the opposite since Dutchman is older... well, whatever. The point is... the game is great. I haven't played it enough to get all the tricks. In fact, I tried to google it but didn't get much info on the game itself like faqs and such.
Does anyone know of a goodwebsite for this game?

I should be studying for an exam.... But, hey, I think it was worth it. Sort of

I'm running the game in DosBox. I used to play it YEEEAAARRRSSSS back on my old Commodore 3600 (I think it was a 3600...).. anyway, it seems to be running slow as hell, and the mouse is invisible until I click on the screen usually twice.. also, using the arrow keys to walk, when I press the arrow, he takes a half step, stops.. and then after holding it for another second or so he'll keep going.. this is all making things quite difficult.. for instance with snakes or robbers it takes like 5-10 seconds for me to get the mouse to even show up to click run.. did I mention that walking is soooo much slower then it should be? I've adjusted the framerate, and the frameskip, neither seem to have a positive effect.. now, to explain why this is confusing me:

I'm running the game on DosBox
I have a 3.0 GHz Pentium 4 Processor Win XP
512 MB of Ram

I love/loved this game.. anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Increase your cycles.
Also, which version of DOSBox are you running?

I tried increasing the cycles, all the way up to over 30k... and I think it might be version 0.65? LOL

Upgrade to 0.71. It's nearly twice as fast as 0.65.

Default Game bug

Welcome!

I just downloaded the game and played it until I've found 6 parts of the hidden map. Since the map is split into 9 different "squares", it's hard to collect all the pieces. I got one from the pokerman in the Saloon, and the rest came from stalagmite caves (so not the goldmine-caves).

The problem is, when I grabbed the 7th piece of the map, I received an interesting graphics:

Ahem...
(needless to say I had to start all over)
