Are you sure sword of the samurai is the same engine. The game is completly different....

Yes, it was the same, but obviously Darklands cam out 5 years later and had updated the engine, but yes it is the same engine, but Darklands obviously is different because of the update to the engine. And while not identical, I do think their styles are 'similar'.

There's only one thing you must know in order to get yourself alive out of combat, and it can be summarized in one word:

Armour.

I guess it's realistic. At the start it's difficult because you have little armour. Equipment is determined by the occupation the character had during the last 5 years, and it's good to have at least one character with good starting armour. Check the manual for this but I think Veteran was cool. Anyway at the start you'll be resting most of the time to restore massive health lost in a single combat, but as soon as you take good armour from fallen enemies --it isn't worth buying it--, combat will be too easy instead of too hard, believe me.

WELL I DID CHECK 1 OF THE MANUAL LINKS (oops caps) on this page but it didnt work, and i looked around for any other links but didnt find any........

ah well found the manual, downloaded the game 6 months ago so didnt see the link this time
12 minutes to go on download....
this was so much easier than if anyone would just tell me what button to press....christ

All I wish now is that replacementdocs or abandonia had the cluebook for download!!! That would be brilliant! meanwhile I keep checking, but it ain't out there anywhere as far as I can see!
