Also stroggy, you have to remember that it's not really the Jihadists at all, that'd be like saying that Catholics are to blame for all of the stuff with the IRA. You also have to remember that the Americans are now on an oil-fuelled crusade around the world and that it'd be hard to stop them.
The Jihadists will always find reasons to attack, this most everybody on the political spectrum agree on. They attacked the US before the war on iraq and they attacked Spain during the war. The Jihadists are to blaim since they carried out the attack. The initial 9.11 attack was, according to them, because of the US influence on the middle east, not just political influence but also cultural and economical. On these grounds they could also attack Japan or any European country.
Belgium was against the war in Iraq but a large ammount of terrorists have been caught trying to execute a terrorist attack in Belgium. The same goes for France and Germany, both countries who were staunch critics of president Bush's war.

Well, I live on the other side of the country, and I didn't know anyone in NYC at that time. The only way it really affected me is that I will hear about it in later years and remember where I was and what was going on when I heard about it, because it was such a big deal. I was...14, I guess, but it seems like I was a lot older than that :bleh:

I have a hard time feeling compassion for people that are affected by things like this, or disaster. Only until recently I could really feel honestly bad and understand the magnitude of some event that really hits hard.
It was very sad though, and my heart goes out to those who suffered losses, truly.

I remember when I first heard about it, I was back in Thessaloniki, sleeping cause I had to get up very early to catch the plane to london. My mother woke me up and told me to turn on the tv in my room. I did and I was just catching the second I think plane hitting the towers. I thought it was weird for my mother to wake me up to watch a movie. Quickly enough of course, I understood that it was all too real. The guy on the tv (some greek guy) was saying how the towers were full of people. I was scared, worried and eventualy started crying. I had a feeling that the towers would collapse, and of course they did a bit later. All I could think of was that the towers were full of people (30K+?) and that most of them could have died. I was in a terrible condition. Like everybody else I had no idea who was behind it at the moment, though I did get to the idea of the behind osama after a while. The other thing I remember was the tv showing footage of people in some arabic countries (don't even remember where right now) and how they were celebrating. I felt very sad about the whole thing. I didn't feel so much anger towards them for celebrating the event, but pity.
The fact that osama and his pals have not been caught or killed yet makes me furious about the *meep* up of the current administration in the USA. They are incompetent, fools and do not deserve to rule the greatest country in the world.
I am afraid that the osama and co will only be caught with the next administration (rep or dem), because the current is the who is who of stupidity to the levels of treason.
I love the USA and I can't stand how it is been treated by its current leaders like a toilet for them to do their work.
:ranting:

It was very weird for me. At the time I heard the news, I was just finishing my New York in SC3K. My mother came in, and asked whether I was still working on it, and then mentioned the WTC. I knew I'd placed them wrong, and was just fixing that at that time. She then told me they were no longer there. I didn't believe it at first.
That was very weird.

I'm here again....you know I'm not omniscient..I'm sincere,I don't know about Srebrenica like all of you don't know about other tragedies in the world...forgotten by the Media, but all important and impressive...I feel sorry for all of theme...
When I was a child and for the first time I knew about wars and tragedies I didn't say "Oh..they've cut me my Spongebob from television!" but sincerly I was very regret...and
sad..sad for the human brutality!
Ok...maybe I'm too emotional, I'm sorry for Danny..I was too impulsive...

Thanks you all for the support...Ciao Puffin, grazie anche a te :bye:
I hate war...but I've learned too early that it's impossible to stop it...
Sorry for my poor English..I hope you'll understand my emotion..
Good night...

No body is saying you're a bad person. The way you feel, many should try to become like you. If more people would be sensitive about what's happening in the world - maybe (just maybe) there would be a slight chance, that would make me hope, it may get better.
The thing is - people aren't sensitive enough about the problems in the world - but it's not their fault!
You're not the only one who hates war - I'm more then convinced that the vast majority of our forum members (and I also hope the vast majority of all the people in the world) hates war. And it's not imposible to stop it, but it's as close to impossible as it gets. Let's hope that sometime soon we won't have to read, watch and listen to reports of terrorist attacks, of extremist attacks, of army attacks, of wars, of people getting killed (weather in attacks, in accidents, natural disasters,...).
Here's a little song for all who understand German - Ein Bisschen Frieden

didn't any of your friends (or aquanteces) go to anti-war demonstartions? or maybe pro-war? I hope none of them had to actualy go to iraq so your country could demonstrate it's commitment to american imperialsim? all those things have in a way followed out of 9.11 (just like WWI had in a way followed out of Franz Ferdinands assaination).
