Return to Zork is another good one. Kind of like Myst, only I like it a lot better since it has adventure game style puzzles where you have an inventory and pick up things and talk to characters.

Paradise is pretty bad. It's rather disappointing, being unfinished and barren so much.

Also recommend Sam n' Max (the original) and Day of the Tentacle. Try The 7th Guest if you like puzzles as well, it runs in ScummVM now. |

First, I have to thoroughly second ("first ... thoroughly second ..." - way to go, Shakespeare ... well, whatever) the Quest for Glory Series. You cannot find the second part as a point&click title (well, presuming that you do not view the Sierra SCI engine based titles as point&click, which in my opinion only someone at least borderline insane could pull off), but if you have the least inclination to role playing games and are an adventure fanatic (which seems to be the case) I'd say fuck it and give this series a try. You will not be disappointed; quite the opposite: you will be sucked into it.
Second, I'd like to recommend everything point&click published by Legend Entertainment, like "Companions of Xanth", "Death Gate", "Mission Critical", "Shannara", "Star Control" and "Callahan's Crosstime Saloon". Magnificent stories and atmosphere there, very well done gems of the adventure genre. (Actually I also recommend the text-based titles from Legend, because they rock. Hard. But if typing totally turns you off, well, give it a pass I guess. You're still missing out though. ) |

True. Obviously I was only thinking of the original releases. Thanks for pointing it out though.

Actually, yes. And developed by Corey and Lori Ann Cole of Quest for Glory.
