An update on this is that Doom and The Ultimate Doom will share the same article, on the basis that a review is done for this, with The Ultimate Doom being simply an additional section to the Doom article, should be simpler that way.

Who decided this?

Well, technically I did, yet if you wish to question it, feel free to. The problem is deciding what would be the best way to get around the Doom/Ultimate Doom problem and this appears to be the best way.

Lol, of course I question it. There is absolutely no reason why you would need to upload the Ultimate Doom archive under the Doom title. Why? That already puts doubt on our reviews, because you're trying to review a 4-eps game but specify it's only a 3-eps one (the title).

Also I already lost considerable time correcting the titles on AB. I corrected at least 100 titles, so I consider myself a title perfectionist. I'm against uploading a game then calling it completely differently.

What I meant was that have the review mostly be about Doom, yet include maybe a section at the end detailing The Ultimate Doom and what it added, the buylink would be redirecting to The Ultimate Doom anyway, and it would mean that we would only need one review instead of the two.

I don't mind the idea of there being two reviews, and two game pages, but what are we going to be hosting here? Its a sold game, and it's unlikely to be going to the Not Sold bin anytime soon.

If we just review Ultimate Doom, there are going to be people who want the vanilla version of Doom as well. If we can't have two reviews then the next best bet is to have one review that touches on both the vanilla version and what Ultimate Doom added to it.

I haven't done so, nor called anyone bickering and childish (really you shouldn't do that at the first glint of disagreement, as a rule of thumb, let alone to people older than you). I figured we could discuss this simple matter without anyone feeling bad about it, even if we don't agree, O_O this isn't politics or religion, chaps.

Yes, they were.

there's also the fact that abandonware in AB rules implies it was commercially distributed at a time, which shareware was obviously not.
If you mean the additional episodes, you were charged for them. If you mean the initial episode, they were "commercially distributed" as long as that doesn't mean exactly the same as "sold for a sum".

Anyway I'm just trying to make my points, it doesn't mean I feel hard about this, and I'm not going to drag this discussion forever. Myself however I'd be in favor of a poll (first one public, then maybe one for staff, then let the admins decide); we're talking as if this were a positivist philosophic matter, if shareware should be on the site, when it's completely discretionary.

Guys, guys... as far as I know besides being a source of game downloads, Abandonia is, at least in my eyes, a respectable gaming database. Please read what it says here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/2280/ or here http://www.idsoftware.com/games/doom/doom-ultimate/ So you want to add a game called Doom because users might be put off by the Ultimate, but the buylink goes to a source that says just that... Ultimate?

Yet didn't you say earlier that you were against the usage of 'The Ultimate Doom' for any review? I'm perfectly fine with using The Ultimate Doom, yet you weren't, if I remember correctly.
