Opps! Sorry bought that.

Ok let's see....

Kom.bat has thus:

DIR D: >nul:
KOMCD -D D:\KOM\ -db c:\games\kom\DB %1 %2 %3 %4

Quote:
For you. For us, it may hold an answer to why running the game this way starts the intro and komcd.exe doesn't. [/b]
Both run the intro, but both drop to that test dos thingo unfortunatly.

Same results with the soundblasters even tho I reset the addresses

Oh woe! Tree of woe and all that!

Anything else you can think of great one?

OMG.
Is that under dosbox?
Should be: c:\kom\
And when you look in WINDOWS: C:\games\kom\

You see, that's the whole idea behind the mounting thing, that you mount
WINDOWS c:\games\
as DOSBOX C:

So I will guess that you see in windows c:\games\games\kom\ or something similar??

If so:
Try this when starting dosbox:
mount c c:\games\games
c:
cd kom
kom

And don't forget to mount your ISO.

HEY! I told you I was comp retarded! LOL

Ok, look, I'll show you EXACTLY what I do:

imgmount d d:\KOM_THIDNEY.iso -t -iso

enter

mount c:\games\kom

enter

c:

enter

kom

starts intro

DROPS TO DOS!

and gives me:

c:games\kom\DB0\test

and when i run komcd, after intro, it gives me:

internal HAL module FATAL error
module : PANEL > PANEL_Init
Error : Can't find PANEL file!

Oh dear! A DRASTIC error has occured!

Thats about it really!

Try edit the kom.bat file to
KOMCD -D D:\KOM_THIDNEY\ -db c:\kom\DB %1 %2 %3 %4

Apparently a problem with paths.
Open kom.bat and edit it to have the following:
KOMCD -D D:\KOM\ -db c:\kom\DB %1 %2 %3 %4
Then run that modified batch file in DOSBox.

EDIT: Whoops, Midget was first.

MM: KOM_THIDNEY is the name of the ISO image. Doesn't affect the paths after the ISO has been mounted.

Doesn't DOSBox treat the ISO as the cd? If so, I would have thought, since the path in the bat directs to the CD, that that path too would need matching names; that either the name is the path needs to be edited to math the ISO, or the ISO name be changed to match the path in the bat.

Nope. You mount an ISO as D: drive, the relative path to any of its content will point to the D: drive.
Same as when you mount C:\Dosgames as C drive it will be treated as C:\.
