I've seen those. I've also seen an electric die. It was this ball that had a small screen on it. It was activated by throwing it, the rolling activated it and then the small screen flashed with random numbers from 1 to 6, and when the die stopped rolling, the changing numbers stopped on some random number.

Now isn't that useful or what? :bleh:

...
As for me, I didn't even recognize numbers on that 1d100 photo Aristharus posted. Only something ball-liked. Quality is quite bad, I must say.

I took it with my cell phone. The camera isn't too good and I thought you'd get the idea even if the pic would be a bit blurry. I can try and take a clearer pic, though.

EDIT: Doesn't look like it. Can't get a clearer picture from any distance with that camera. But I think you can imagine the rest. The black blurs are the numbers, of course.

I actually don't even play very much. I have played occasionally and GM'd one (just a two-scenario) campaign and I have made some small campaigns that I've planned to GM sometime, but still I'm really just a beginner. My brother has played for a very long time and most of those dice I've gotten from him, that's probably why I have so much of them. And that pile doesn't have my all D10s and D20s as they're being used as level markers in my Munchkin card game.

At the moment my plans for rpg:ing have come to a stop because one of the regular players is in the army. And he's training to get to the air force, which would mean he won't be playing with us much for the next couple of decades.

Don't you have any pen and paper RPG clubs or just friends?

Just playing with friends. I haven't even thought of joining some group of unknown people. There's too many ways to play pen and paper RPGs. Some people prefer very much roleplaying, some very much action and there's many possibilities between those. Some like very long, detailed descriptions of every little thing they do, some want to keep simple things simple.

I just think it'll be better for me to stick to playing with my buddies. I'll just have to find someone to replace this one guy who's in the army. And I know a couple of people that are interested, I've just been too lazy to get the group together and especially to finish and polish up my campaign.

I see. When I was young (12 or maybe early years old), I often saw, when oldest folks play in unknown game for me(on that time). They were throwing terms, such as "Paladin" and so on, which I couldn't understand. Just recent I realized, that it was most probably kind of D&D pen and paper RPG game.
Do you play D&D with your friends? Do you use any books (Monsters Manual, D&D manual e.t.c)? What version of D&D Manual you use as basic?
For me, I didn't ever played in pen and paper RPG, but I would like to. So I may mistake in my terms in questions below.

I don't play D&D, the books are too expensive. Would like to, though.

Mostly I play WFRP (Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying Game) and I just bought a Call of Cthulhu D20 book. A friend of mine has an RPG book called Praedor (It's finnish and in Finnish. But to anyone who knows the language, I strongly recommend it, a great system!) and I've played that with him and other friends.

I have played D&D twice (that's two nights of playing only), I was replacing a guy in my brothers' and their friends' game as he couldn't play for two weeks and they thought they wouldn't make it with the smaller party. I had a character of my own of course, with good story on why he joined the party and why he left after a couple of days. And of course a story also for why the other character wasn't with them that time.

My brothers' group's GM has the newest D&D Manuals (and much more, he collect's RPG books. He hasn't even played every one he has!)
