Could it have anything to do with crummy actors, sleepy progression, worse plots and nil director's talent, as found in too many movies? Wait! I just described those 50's flicks again [/b]
Likely. Unfortunately, these are the plight of many modern-day movies as well.

Anime? I haven't seen much of that, I've read a couple of mangas, but I just didn't get it. I thought the same about anime. It's not bad, but I simply don't get it. :wallbash:
Beside, after reading the manga backwards, I'm supprised the anime reels don't run backwards too [/b]
I reccomend Ghost in the Shell... There are two mangas, two movies and two complete OVA series (with a third one underway). Don't advise the second manga, though... doesn't stand up to the original.
But all the rest is quite something, especially if you like cyberpunk genre.

Aren't you mistaking proper Anime with Hentai-Anime (the pornographic sub-genre)? By the same token, it would also be illegal for people under 18 to watch television, just because some of the transmitted programs contain pornography.

I like a good comedy, but i dislike teenage(sex)-comedies.

My current comedy favourites are Naked Gun series and Life of Brian (which I saw very recently),.

Same here. I think those "comedies" are for sex apprehensive people, who can understand only such humor.

Same here, too. I think most of this sort of films resort to such retarded kind of gags simply because they need something to cover up the underdeveloped plot and utter lack of any semblance of sense.

Now, comedies like Police Academy or Ghost Busters... well, that's something entirely different.
