it would be cool if you put some blurb about the apps, particuarly game maker. its amazingly deep and supports pretty much evrey language (as long as you have the apropriate .dll) its free but for just 10$ you get 3d and multiplayer support,
game maker scripting must be pretty simple (im just knew html and im getting the hang of it quite quickly)its more than you would think from just looking at its main page. i think people might just glance at it without being aware of what it is capable of. and now that they are charging for rpg maker it seems more viable for people. (sorry if this is spammy but i am falling in love with the maker. i havnt played a game scince i got it. just been working on mine) |

Game Maker is a great program. You can make a simple platformer/arcade game without no code at all (just using drag&drop actions) and once you learn it you can use GML (Game Maker Language) to do more complex stuff. Anyone that's interested in using GM and has troubles with it is free to mail me @ onyx.softworks@gmail.com. I'm experienced GM user and I can help you.

Kon-Tiki,
move Eclipse to Java. It is basicly Java tool, but with modules will work with C, C++, PHP etc. lnaguages. I'm using it for my Java Advanced class. |

't Is easy enough, too. It's what made stepping into languages like C/C++ and Java easier for me. Syntax and some very basic concepts're learned with that, while not being too complicated. Takes a week max. to learn enough to make good games.
@Anubis: Will move it right away k: @Russ: I'll look into it after class. If you could provide a link to it, and maybe a link to tutorials, that'd speed it up (I can add it during class then  ) |
