As cheap as it is, even the GOTY version (with both Tribunal and Bloodmoon), what's stopping you from buying it? It's being offered new for $20, and Amazon has used copies from $15. I suspect if you search around, you can find it for $10 or less. That's dirt cheap, especially when you consider all the mod add-ons that turn it into a 200-300 hour game.

It's got enormous loading times, though. Here, it can sometimes take a minute to pull up the inventory. Terribly, terribly painful.

Not on mine, it takes about a minute to load the game initially and then about 30 seconds to load anyt new palces I go into. The inventory comes up instantly or in a couple of seconds though, I think there must be someting wrong with yours.

wow, I guess I'm really fortunate. Morrowind for me just hiccups between some parts. Most any other occassion is instantaneous! And here I am seriously unhappy about my current video card.... ulp!

A lot depends on your memory. When I was initially running the game on a 1.3 gHz CPU with 256 MB RAM, it took forever to play. Now I'm on a 3 gHz CPU with 1 GB RAM, and it runs like a dream--even though I've got 200+ mods going, as well.

Well, 1,6GHz, overclocked to 2GHz (by accident ) with 256Mb. I guess it's the Ram then. It really is a pain in the behind, the way it's slow here. A shame, otherwise the game wouldn't be boring as hell It looks promising and alot of fun, but if you have to do more waiting than anything else...

is there a mod to make your text appear larger?* I swear I get a headache reading at 1600x1200.
What about lower it to 1024 x 768?
The text WILL become larger and Morrowind will be still worth to see  [/b][/quote]
If you have a TFT monitor with a native resolution of say 1280x1024, then lowering that resolution results in a blurry picture. At least on my TFT that's the case.

As for Morrowind, there's a fps otimizer around, which I find really does help with the framerate. And more RAM is always a good against loading times.
