I am worried a lot as to what will happen to our world in the next 10 years or so. I am afraid that a large scale war is not out of the question (ie millions of people dead).

I do not believe that Iran does not want nuclear weapons and that it is not trying to acquire them. I do believe that they will manage to do so.
The good thing is that Israel already has plenty of nukes, making a possible exchange a far possibility...unless there is a (or more than one) secret detonations in Israel, in which case all is lost.

The world is in a terrible terrible course to self destruction and I hope that a solution will be found that does not require death and sacrifice.

Sure, the problem could be solved by levelling the whole middle east, but that should not be a solution (and I guess it is still not).


Recently there was a another suicide bomber attack in Tel Aviv, killing 9 I think, civilians and injuring many more, the problem is not that. The problem is that recently the EU stopped funding the palestinian (state) and immediately after the suicide bombers the palestinian state (apart from Fatah) declared that it was a legitimate attack. Qatar and Iran declared they are giving several million $ (50 Qatar and I don't know how much Iran) to the palestinian government. NOT GOOD combination.

I am glad i am not living in the middle east, but Greece is not too far.

Perhaps we (west) should support Turkey re capturing the middle east for a new empire. (semi joking).

Perhaps you misunderstoor what BP said.

I will answer though the original question. If the people in power think their end is near and they have nothing to lose, they might decide to perform such an attack.

In which case I hope the "new" star wars system is *dirty word* working.

One thing I don't get, is why Iran couldn't develop nuclear power, when big percent of the world is ran by nuclear power? To force them to buy power from outside and thus hindering their economic growth? Don't know, but if people fear for nuclear power or weapons, I believe there would be much more reason in helping them to build safe nuclear power plants. And it's waaay easier to buy nuke than to build one... And why are you even speculating what if they use nuke against USA? Anyone fool enough to openly use such a devastating weapon will be neutralized. But the thing is, is anyone bold enough to try to smuggle nuke to target country and then detonate it. Oh, and some people do suicide bombings, so that wouldn't be a problem. What if some crime organization with means agreed to take a container full of stolen electronics or something to be smuggled into New York, with few terrorists - pretending something totally else - that will "supervise" the delivery to the States? And then, in the New York harbour... KABOOM. Okay, not as huge devastation as it would cause in let's say in skyscraper's upper floors, but why to risk everything in the customs? And even it they got past it, every second after that would be risk. Of course you could be hand on the trigger all the time... Okay, of course USA would retaliate, but big question remains: would they hit the right target and how would the other world react? Could they assure others that it was that certain country or not? And would those others be ready into dire actions? Hardly.

Btw, I didn't vote, as it seems to be "us" in a meaning I don't belong to.

why are they rising? because of the roumors not because of the market supply and demand. that is not how free economy should work. it's stupid!

sure it's dissapearing, but they also find new oil every month.

i am talking about fluctuating price. the supply is bigger than demand yet the prices are rising. why did they drop during winter (oil&gas is then also used for gheating) and are rising now when summer is comming? that's just crazy. i heard on news just today that prices are rising because of situation in Iran. wtf? what does that have to do with it? ok so they are the oil exporter, btu they are still exporting it. nothing changed. so it's all speculation, trying to predict the future if you want.

Isn't it ironic that nuclear energy is the only probable substition for oil in the future? And don't give me the alternative energy nonsense, because it'll never be as cheap, efficient and clean (yes!) as nuclear energy, especially when fusion will come in to use...
