This is my all time favorite series. QFG4 is my all time favorite game, it's a shame it's not up here.

And yeah, combat on QFG5 is messy and... don't know... ugly. A horde of people attacks you, you hithithithithithithit and sometimes run away. Or you cast dazzle and hithithithithithit. And I don't know, but the ambientation, the perspective, everything seemed to me like another game, didn't find the emotional and gameplay connection with the others... I am not saying it an ugly game, just that I prefer the old QFG style. And parser, at that!
Gabriel Knight 2 is excellent. I'd even say it's better than the first game. I didn't like the direction the ending took in GK1. Gabriel Knight 3 was kind of disappointing but still worth playing if you're a fan of the series. It's kind of like the Da Vinci Code.

Well, that doesn't make me want to play it! :P

But I think we were taking the thread too much into the Gabriel Knight direction. Let's return to the wonderful Quest for Glory.

So... you want to be a hero?

I found QFG4 extremely surprising, because normally the sequels deteriorate in quality over time. QFG1 was super and charming, QFG2 a little less than the original, QFG3 a letdown. But then they bring out part 4 and everything seemed even better than before, everyone who has played the 4th part knows what I mean. So the exception proves the rule.

Except the combat. Did not like QFG4's combat. I think the style of combat in the previous games worked best.

Yep, combat is worst that's true, but I blame it on Dosbox because it runs way too fast. I always imagined the combat would be cool if it ran on a real 386.

Yep, especially the mana regeneration which totally refills your energy in combat in a few seconds.
