[off topic]As for Marshal's plan, real reason for its existance was not to repeate mistake made after WWI. Bad economic situation helped Hitler to come to power.[/off topic]

The marshals plan was specificaly set to fight comunism. if they were trying to prevent new wars why didn't they give money to those who most needed it- the asian and north african countries?

Marshal’s plan was created at the time when USA and USSR still were the partners. It was USSR's idea that plan was created against Communism.

If Communism was the reason, why would then USA troops bother to improve destroyed economy in Japan too?

As for Africa's and Asian countries, they fought for their independence at the time. Any support of those counties would result in conflict with power that owned them before.

Yes,
later it resulted in Cold War. USSR declined Marshal's plan, which was proposed in 1947 in Paris.

Back to topic:
For those who live in EU. (except GB) Which currency do you like more? Euro or your currency that you had before Euro?

On a personal usage level? I find the euro to be quite annoying, prices have gone up quite a bit since the introduction of the euro.

exactly, which is every countries mistake in not circulating the euro earlier. If everyone in the EU had circulated the € earlier, we would have a unified money system
throughout europe and not lose a great deal of wealth because of it. And as for the newbie eastern european countries, the EU could issue some kind of grant to reduce the exchange rates. And anyway, this increased price is a sign of a strengthend european economy. Except for France where Jacques Chirac is having a Magaret Thatcher effect going on. The sooner he gets out and gets replaced by someone who can sort out the economy and hopefully reduce unemployment the better. He has had a fairly good run up to noe though to be fair.

****Tony Blair for PM for half of this term of government!!!****
****Then switch to Gordon Brown for the second half to gain Labour votes!!!**** :Brain:

Don't expect that to happen, judging from the trend it looks as if Chirac was made President for life.
