I know Call of Duty and Return to Castle Wolfenstien use Paks
Oh and Wolf ET, thats RTCW engine.

Yup, there are many games that use .pak, but the game specifically is "Gorky Zero - Beyond Honor" made in 2003.

That's a very new game. You'll can't just expect to have old versions of the programs you requested to actually read those files, let alone even have a chance if the producers introduced some new security settings for those files...

Yup. The formats get constantly updated. It's like the MPQ files from Diablo, Starcraft and Diablo II - maybe similar, but they need slightly different approaches.

hmm I know Pakscape can open Doom 3s Paks so why wouldn't it open something like that.... =\

I cant find anywhere to get that pakscape program, the link mentioned here, couldnt be loaded for me... Plus Doom3's paks can be opened with powerarchiver, simple as that... :whistle:

pk3 files from quake 3 and doom 3 are actually zip files. Renaming them to .zip allows you to unpack them with winzip or whatever program you prefer. Maybe this works with your .pak files too... :/

Try Total Commander... it's a really neat file manager that can operate on various compression types.

If not, try some ripper programs.
