![]() Thanks a lot for all the info, I am doing the compression and it seems to work very well.

![]() MS Defrag enough? No, not really, no. And slow as hell.
That's a good one: http://www.auslogics.com/disk-defrag

![]() i wanted to recommend ultimate defrag, but it's payware and dosraider here probably gave you a better solution since it's freeware
though ultimate defrag offers 14 day trial which is fully functionable so you could try more times :P

![]() Well, O&O Defrag is considered 'the' professional defragmentation tool, but you have to pay if you want to continue using the trial version.

![]() I wouldn't bother to compress, at least the files that take most space are already compressed and you'll get almost nothing in exchange for all the trouble.
To defrag my recommendation is JkDefrag: http://www.kessels.com/Jkdefrag/

![]() The best defrag utility is in my opinion PerfectDisk. But it's payware.
So I stick with O&O Defrag V4 that was present as a free bonus on the cover CD of one of the local PC tech magazines about two years back. No complaints so far, but IMO PerfectDisk is a bit better when it comes to free space consolidation. |

![]() I just checked the one recommended by dos raider. I saw also another small program which is a registry defrag (from the same company and freeware too. is it also needed?)
I mean do I need a disk defrag and a registry defrag? are the other ones that you are recommending including a registry defrag?
