Yeah, I was loading the right save game. I made sure the left side of the load screen had my save game file listed.

When I ran the game using Zeliard.exe instead of Game.bat, the load started working. Don't know what the difference is, but it works now.

Thanks.

Man I used to love this game. I kept getting stuck though so I never got really far.

Hmm, doesn't the game remind me on Zelda 2 for NES in some ways...

Just to let you all know, I am running it from zeliard.bat w/ no emulation and it works just fine. I haven't been to a boss yet, so I don't know if theres a speed problem or not. I'm using WXP Home, and a SB Audigy 1 w/ the settings at 64 colors, roland sound, & PC speaker sfx. The issues I do have, and they are minor, is that I need to turn off my screen saver and the SB sound options don't work.

That's because you don't have a soundblaster/16 device in your system. Play it in dosbox and that sound option will be emulated and you then can use it instead of pc speaker. You're only able to choose roland sound because of windows midi.

If you need any help or anything with dosbox, I'm sure you'll get a lot of it here of all places.

Awesome game. I remember playing it as a kid, infact it was one of the first games I have ever played, heck I spent lots of time playing it and even though it was frustrating at times I found Zeliard very enjoyable. Then I really got stuck at fire realm. I also remember drawing maps too, mostly because levels are seamless and will repeat if you go any direction, sometimes in order to get to high unreachable place you got to go deep down instead of attempting to reach it from places around. I found the game recently again and now I'm trying to complete it on my own. All I have to say is whoever designed those mazes is a sadist. This game can be very frustrating at times (I hate those fast blue dogs at Correr cave).

Yep, that's why you need the map that came with the game.

I hope you find the link I put earlier a good resource.

I also found the fire level to be a pain, mostly because it has a lot of one way areas, and those air currents can also get you. The only other area I hated was the tree. I took absolutely forever on that to just find the crest thing.

This game reminds me of the metroid 2.
Great games!

Great game. I remember playing this when I was younger, always got stuck in one of the caves, though. Have to use a walkthrough once I get there.

Funny, I was thinking about this game about three days before you guys put it up...

One problem I'm having though. When I emulate it with Dosbox (0.65), I can't load a previous savegame. It just starts me at the very beginning. If I run the game by just double clicking game.bat, I can load my savegames, even ones saved while playing in Doxbox. Anybody else have this problem or know how to fix it.

Thanks for putting the game out and for any help with this.

Maybe you didn't setup directories in Dosbox in right manner. Try to use D-fend (frontend for dosbox) - it's much easier to setup things properly with it...
